Davie will build one of the most powerful hybrid diesel-electric polar icebreakers.
Davie will contribute six Program Icebreakers (PIB) as the backbone of the Canadian Coast Guard’s icebreaker fleet. They will be able to operate in severe ice conditions and support Arctic missions during winter and summer.
Davie will build two ferries to supply essential service to eastern Canada island communities. The first vessel will replace the Madeleine vessel on the Prince Edward Island to Îles-de-la-Madeleine service route.
Canada has selected Davie’s Naval Maintenance Centre of Excellence as a long-term, through-life support centre to sustain the Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) surface combatant fleet into the far future.
