Community relations

Write to Us! Davie has implemented ongoing communication procedures to address any concerns, questions, reports, or comments from the community with transparency and integrity.

Do you have any questions or wish to report something? We’d love to hear from you!

Open and Ongoing Communication

We are dedicated to finding better ways to engage with our community and neighbours. Our goal is to become a leading example in the shipyard industry for community relations. To achieve this, we have recently implemented several improvements, including:

  • Managing reports
  • Making our teams accessible to address your questions and comments
  • Increasing our presence and participation in local activities
  • Initiating consultations with First Nations to upgrade our facilities
  • Improving our communication tools
  • Establishing a formal, ongoing exchange mechanism between the Liaison Committee and the community

Liaison Committee

The Liaison Committee, through regular meetings, will facilitate genuine dialogue between Davie, its stakeholders, and the community. These meetings will provide members with the opportunity to voice their opinions, discuss operations, present and enhance various industrial and community projects, as well as gather suggestions and feedback for the continuous improvement of Chantier Davie.

The Liaison Committee is made up of citizens and community organizations, and focuses on three main objectives:

• Provide a space for dialogue, information sharing, and collaborative problem-solving between Davie representatives and stakeholders involved in the shipyard’s modernization and operations.

• Collaborate on the planning and implementation of Davie projects to better meet the expectations of the community and stakeholders.

• Develop a shared understanding of the environmental, social, and economic challenges and opportunities associated with Davie’s modernization and operations.
